SMU Management is pictured with the 27-member student organising committee, which worked tirelessly for seven months to bring Patron’s Day 2025 (PD25) to life. The photograph was taken in front of the eight-metre inflatable mascot, SMOO SMOO, created to commemorate the occasion. The reflections of students who contributed to the success of the event highlight Patron’s Day 2025 as a rewarding and transformative experience that fostered a strong sense of pride, belonging, and community. Through their various roles in design, finance, operations, logistics, and event support, students developed valuable skills in leadership, communication, public speaking, teamwork, and time management. Many also found the opportunity to host distinguished university leaders and contribute to a milestone celebration especially meaningful, taking pride in helping bring SMU’s 25th anniversary festivities to life. Students fondly recalled the vibrant atmosphere of the event, with highlights including the SMU Makers’ Market, the Inter-Faculty Tug-of-War, and the evening performances. Despite the rain, the celebration brought together students, alumni, and staff in a shared expression of school spirit and camaraderie. For many, Patron’s Day 2025 was more than a university event; it was an opportunity to strengthen friendships, celebrate SMU’s achievements, create lasting memories, and reflect on the university’s impact on student life as it marked a significant milestone in its history.
