Young scholars from the 2026 Dato' Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme explore Singapore culture and heritage beyond the classroom

The second batch of students from the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme had the opportunity to delve deeply into Singapore’s dynamic and rich cultural mosaic on a weekend. Guided through key historical enclaves and landmarks, the scholars moved beyond the classroom to gain a firsthand appreciation of the city's heritage. This experiential journey brought them face-to-face with the varied traditions, thriving communities, and foundational stories that serve as the bedrock of Singapore’s unique character and identify. In the photo, the students posed in front of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown. The programme was held from 14 January to 25 January 2026, exposing top students from the ASEAN region to academic learning in technology and business at Singapore Management University.
