Nurturing talent beyond the classroom with showcase at the National Day Observance Ceremony 2026
Professor Lily Kong, President of SMU, together with SMOO, the university mascot, is pictured with student performers from Undercurrents, a band under SoundFoundry, and emcees from Singapore Management University Broadcast & Entertainment (SMUBE) at the National Day Observance Ceremony held on 6 August 2026. The event highlights SMU’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to pursue their interests, showcase their talents, and develop holistically through participation in campus events and co-curricular activities.
SoundFoundry provides a platform for students to pursue and develop their passion for music, offering opportunities to explore instrumental performance, recording, music production, and band dynamics. Established in 2004, Singapore Management University Broadcast & Entertainment (SMUBE) supports university events and student engagement through its four specialised wings: Campus Emcee Collective, Campus Podcast, Campus Video Production, and Campus Events & Backstage. Together, these student groups contribute to the vibrancy of campus life while nurturing creativity, leadership, and professional skills beyond the classroom.
