Connecting Talents : building networks for early-career postgraduates May 2026

Featuring student participants, staff, alumni, and invited guests attending the Connecting Talents (CT) for Early-Career Postgraduates event, held in the Quiet Area on Level 5 of the Li Ka Shing Library on 22 May 2026. Organised by the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC), the event reflected the centre’s commitment to supporting early-career professionals through meaningful connections and networking opportunities. The evening brought together nearly 70 SMU early-career postgraduate students and more than 30 alumni for an engaging programme of networking, career insights, and professional exchange. Participants also took part in the Career Discovery Bingo ice-breaker activity, designed to foster conversations and encourage new connections, with prizes awarded to the first 12 participants who completed the challenge. Through alumni experiences, professional networking, and meaningful conversations, the event highlighted the role of community, mentorship, and relationship-building in shaping the early career journeys of postgraduate students.
