SMU Patron’s Day 2024 : An “Upsized!” celebration of community and sustainability

This video brings together memorable highlights from SMU Patron’s Day on 2 February 2024, when Campus Green was transformed into a lively gathering space for the University’s 24th anniversary celebrations. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of SMU filled the campus for performances, carnival activities, community engagement, and celebration. Reflecting SMU’s Vision 2025, environmental protection and sustainable development took centre stage in the festivities. The occasion also marked President Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s first visit to SMU as the University’s Patron. He attended the celebration with his spouse, Ms Jane Ittogi.

Taking the theme “Upsized!”, Patron’s Day 2024 brought greater scale to many familiar elements of the annual celebration, from the biggest SMU Maker’s Market yet to expanded sustainability initiatives. Through scenes of performances, carnival games, market activities, and community participation, the video preserves the festive atmosphere of an event that brought the wider SMU community together on Campus Green.
