- Students in active group discussions during a lecture. Group work and discussion are integral part of assessment at SMU. Through iterations of working with peers from different backgrounds to achieve group learning goals, students emerge interpersonally attuned and socially aware. These cultivate them into sharp thinkers and good team players before joining the workforce.

Students are encouraged and guided to speak up and present their opinions and arguments cogently, enabling them to learn from both the professors and peers.
