          The Campus Green in 2017
          The Campus Green is a space at the heart of SMU, with features such as an outdoor Amphitheatre, jogging tracks was designed to promote and facilitate outdoor activities for SMU community and public. It serves as a space not only to energize fitness and health but to support new trends in teaching, learning and the Co-curricular Activities (CCA) needs of students as well.

                    Outstanding Intern of the Year award recipients of 2017
                    Ms. Ruth Chiang (center) is pictured with the 2017 Outstanding Intern of the Year award first-place winner, Lu Yi Qi, Benjamin (left), and second runner-up, Elizabeth Ong Xin Yi (right). Established in 2013, the award is funded by an endowed contribution from Ms. Ruth Chiang, the pioneer director of the Office of Career Services at SMU. Managed by the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC), the award scheme aims to encourage excellence in internship performance, uphold good and ethical values and practices in the workplace, and recognize students' achievements in their internships.

                          A professor conducting a lecture. Instead of big lecture theatres, students in SMU are taught in seminar rooms in classes of not more than 45. Students are encouraged and guided to speak up and present their opinions and arguments cogently, enabling them to learn from both the professors and peers.


                            97.5° Arc x 8 sculpture by Bernar Venet in Campus Green
                            The "97.5° Arc x 8" is part of Bernar Venet's Arc series of sculptures, which illustrate the beauty, balance and malleability of steel. Its name describes its mathematical composition, where all of the beams in the sculpture are nested and curved to the same angle providing a sense of balance and grace. The sculpture was donated to SMU by Dato' Kho Hui Meng on 19 May 2017. It is situated prominently in Campus Green.

Located within the SMU Labs, it provides SMU copmmunity with a 24/7 dynamic and trend-setting co-study, co-work, co-living environment that also serves as a ‘living lab’ where applied research simultaneously takes place.
